This is Thanksgiving @PizzaPhil's...Recliner Heaven, Dallas Cowboys on the TV, Noel asleep, me waking up from my own recliner coma long enough to make sure Beau is not running with scissors or because my mom is trying to make me eat something with whipped cream on it...
When I was growing up, we spent every Thanksgiving at my Dad's Pizza Joint - from preparation to eating to watching the Cowboys to fighting over the Ms. Pac Man Machine to waiting on the nice people who would come in for pizza on Thanksgiving.... It was always a goofball adventure....but it was just how we did it :) I hope you all are having a nice day, no matter what you're doing. Thanks for Being a Part of my New Extended Family. Exclusive Preview and Invites for the QFeeder Beta – Mac.AppStorm
I’m pleased to announce that we have secured 500 invites to try out the beta of a new OS X Twitter client – QFeeder. The application takes a unique approach, attempting to analyse and prioritise messages based on their content and your previous actions. It’s a departure from the standard format of a Twitter client, and certainly adds an interesting twist.
Read on for a short Q & A session with the developer, and a link to access one of our 500 beta codes. Don’t delay, as they’ll be snapped up quickly!
Q. Why another Twitter client?
Why not? There’s many but I don’t think the final word has been said in such a changing technology. Existing clients are merely linear streams, resulting in too much noise. I wanted something that would show the most important messages to me at a glance.
The QFeeder HUD
Q. What makes QFeeder different?
- It performs heuristics on all incoming messages and ranks them based on how you use the application, prioritizing messages to the top of the stream based on who it thinks you want to see. For instance, people you mention to are ranked higher. You only need follow a single stream, freeing up desktop real estate and helping you not miss the best messages.
- Novel side window stream makes Twitter very real-time. It allows you to see and read Twitter messages without switching away from your browser.
- Drop down window from the menu bar puts Compose, Search, Friends and Messages within reach at all times. The window may be detached for a more conventional client window.
- Supports all the latest Twitter features of Geolocation, Retweets, Lists, etc. You may adjust the prioritization algorithm and apply manual filters if you like as well.
- Makes use of modern technologies such as Grand Central Dispatch and Core Location available in Snow Leopard.
QFeeder Interface
Q. What does it require?
OSX 10.6 Snow Leopard. It isn’t compatible with 10.5 or earlier, as it uses new features only found in 10.6 such as Core Location and Grand Central Dispatch.
Q. What is the status of the project?
QFeeder is opening for private beta starting now. It should go in to a full open release in several weeks.
